Lance E. Nichols

as Det. Lonnie Arceneaux
(Treme, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) – Arceneaux is a veteran of the NOPD and a native of New Orleans. He's a homicide detective who operates best in the interview room, sizing up the witnesses and suspects with the knowledge that everyone is hiding something. He's not out to enforce a political agenda or to make an arrest at any cost, rather he's a man in search of the truth, wherever that leads him.

J. Patrick McNamara

as Malcolm Whelan
(Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure) – Malcolm is a powerful man with a vision of what New Orleans can become. He's used his wealth and influence to push development and revitalization of many of New Orleans crumbling neighborhoods. He sees the potential of new money coming to the city and the opportunity provided by the national exposure the city has received since Hurricane Katrina.

Lauren DeVore

as Mallory Whelan
(Releasing Eurydice) – Mallory is a troubled girl and the focus of this season, though she is already dead when the series begins. She never felt like she fit in with her family, or anywhere. Mallory was intense, secretive, angry, and damaged by those around her.

Vanessa Cloke

as Kim Whelan
(The Big Short, The Walking Dead) – Kim is the wife of Malcolm Whelan, and Mallory's mother. A former model and much younger than her husband, Kim resents being viewed as a trophy wife. She fills her time with charity work, but what she always desired was a loving relationship with her daughter.

Shanna Forrestall

as Dr. Amanda Blaine
(Olympus has Fallen, The Last Exorcism) – Dr. Blaine is a prominent, somewhat arrogant, psychiatrist who has been treating Mallory for years, trying to help her work through the issues with her family.

Billy Slaughter

as Wilton Lowe
(The Magnificent Seven, Max Steel)  – Wilton is the kind of new money Malcolm thinks New Orleans needs. He's young, professional, successful, and moved to the city after the storm. He's the Whelan's neighbor and a friend of Malcom's.

Matthew Thompson

as Tommy Lafon
(Dallas Buyers Club, Paragon School for Girls) – Tommy is Mallory's friend. He grew up in the Melpomene projects and still lives in Central City. Tommy is proud of what he's accomplished with so little help. He's intelligent, philosophical, and quick-witted. Mallory is the only true friend he has.

Phyllis Montana-Leblanc

as Deborah Miller
(Treme, Get on Up) – Deborah is a crusader. A Central City native leading the fight against gentrification. She sees New Orleans changing, and not for the better. Her people are being priced out, and her culture displayed as a tourist attraction. She is every bit the fighter that Malcolm is, and every bit as determined to win.

Ian Casselberry

as Circle-K
(Supergirl, Get Out) - Circle-K is a low level drug dealer. He grew up in New Orleans, losing his mother at a young age. He got caught up in the city's underworld, and it never let go of him. He's resentful of what others have that he doesn't, but still draws boundaries when it comes to what he's willing to do.

Rachel Varela

as Tanya Graham
(Hayride 2, Jack Reacher: Never Go Back) – Where Mallory felt out of place, Tanya thrives. She's popular, outgoing, and sharp. She can also be callous, cruel, and deceptive, keeping many secrets from her parents about just how sordid life is as a wealthy teenager with little supervision.

Amye Gousset

as Mrs. Graham
(Battle Creek, The Livingston Gardener) Mrs. Graham is a former debutante from a wealthy New Orleans family. She's known only the live of someone for whom politics and social issues aren't a concern, and she believes that the most important thing is to conduct yourself properly, but has, unfortunately, left it to others to teach her daughter that lesson.
